Post Storm Nicole Information
Citizen Information Center: The Citizens Information Center (CIC) will be open until 5 p.m. today, Nov. 11. Effective Saturday, Nov. 12, the CIC’s hours of operations will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until further notice. Residents may call the CIC at 866-345-0345 to learn about storm resources.
Garbage and Recycling: Regular garbage and recycling pickup will resume on Monday and Tuesday. No bagged or canned yard waste will be serviced until after the City’s debris haulers complete storm debris pickup. *This information is for residents who are serviced by GFL with trash/yard waste pickup on Monday and recycling pickup on Tuesday.*
Debris: The City is currently awaiting approval for FEMA Public Assistance (PA) for debris removal from City-maintained streets. FEMA funding is necessary to cover all or part of the costs for debris removal associated with Tropical Storm Nicole. In the meantime, all storm debris generated and placed at the curb after the onset of Tropical Storm Nicole should be placed un-bagged in the right of way. The City’s contractor debris hauler, Gaston, will be assessing the City’s storm debris and a pickup schedule will be announced, if and when FEMA funding is approved.
City Parks: All City parks are open for your use except Valentine Park. Valentine Park is only open for contracted league use.
Reporting Issues: If you see something that needs to be addressed (tree limb hanging, street sign down, etc.), please report is via our app “Orange City Connect” available on the App Store and google play store. Requests can also be submitted online here. Reporting issues via Orange City Connect allows City staff to prioritize issues and address them in an efficient manner
